Developing the Picture

“Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind a mental picture of yourself as succeeding. Hold this picture tenaciously. Never permit it to fade. Your mind will seek to develop the picture.”
– Norman Vincent Peale

One of the most challenging aspects of creating the life you desire is perservering with full faith, despite the apparent obstacles that invariably present themselves along the way.  It is easy to become dissolutioned when things don’t seem to be going in the direction you desire. However, if you allow yourself to fall prey to buying into the belief that your picture of success is not happening for you, then you will be correct and your goal will be impossible to attain.  Yet, if you can see the obstacles you are presented with to overcome, as stepping stones, each one bringing you closer to your ultimate vision of success, then you support yourself in maintaining your vision, along with your faith.  This is the necessary combination for fruition to occur, that will allow you to reach the picture of your dreams.  Trust, it’s not a matter of if, but rather when.  Keep the desired picture of your success vibrant in your mind, continually take the action steps to move toward this picture, and watch it develop into your life.

What is your picture of personal success?

I think too that after taking each step, whether it *seems* forward or maybe it was a bit backward, we can take that vision and dream and celebrate that we took the step. Replaying it in your mind afterwards in detail to simply focus on the positive can plant incredible seeds for the reality you want to see.

Thank you for sharing Karen. I love your blog.
