Persistence

Friday, May 25th, 2012

How often do you find yourself feeling tired in your personal pursuits?  Whether they be in relationship, or your professional life, endeavors of success usually require time, patiences and ultimately persistence.  Yet, continuing to persevere requires a lot of internal energy.  In order to support yourself “to keep going”, there are three things you can do:

1. Take some time-outs to rest and rejuvenate, with a conscious commitment to continuing forward once you’ve become recharged.
2. Remain clear on your highest values and how your current endeavor is honoring them.
3. Believe you can achieve what it is you are pursuing.

When we take away the question of ‘if’, and make it a matter of ‘when’, our journey becomes a process of taking however many unknown number of steps while ‘knowing’ they are leading you to your destination.  With this attitude, it is possible to stop and smell the roses along the way…Since you know you’re going to get there at some point.

You can have the love you desire, achieve success as you define it, and experience the life you want.  It is okay to get tired along the way, and feel discouraged at times too.  Most things in life happen in waves.  Each wave reaches up higher than the last, and then it usually comes at least part way down in between the peaks. Try to see the descents as the beginning of a greater ascent, and know you are truly on your way to getting all you are working toward…as long as you don’t give up.  Persist!
